There are no injuries reported after an overnight highrise fire in Ottawa’s Carlington neighbourhood.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a multi-unit building in the 1000 block of Lepage Avenue around 2:20 a.m. on Friday, July 5.
Several 9-1-1 callers had reported alarms and visible smoke on the third floor of the building.
Upon arrival, firefighters made their way up to the third floor and were met with smoke.
A working fire was declared at 2:23 a.m. and firefighters rescued multiple occupants from inside the structure.
The fire was under control in less than 10 minutes and a fire investigator is now working to determine the origin and cause.
The Canadian Red Cross and the Salvation Army will be assisting those affected by this incident.
