Tay Township Fire Department Launches Accessibility and Functional Needs Registry

Tay Township Fire Department Launches Accessibility and Functional Needs Registry
Tay Township

Tay, Ontario – Do you or a loved one have medical, access, or functional needs that would place you at higher risk during an emergency event? It is important to plan ahead for disasters as resources can be very limited during an emergency. If you are on oxygen, have a physical disability that would make it difficult to evacuate or have other medical needs, you are strongly encouraged to fill out the Tay Township Accessibility and Functional Needs Registry as part of your Emergency Preparedness Plan.

The information gathered from the Accessibility and Functional Needs Registry will be used to alert public safety responders (police, fire, and EMS) that an individual residing at a specific address has a disability that may hinder evacuation or transport. People on the registry can be contacted by public safety responders when an emergency event is anticipated to make sure their plans are in place and to provide information from trusted, verified, and vetted emergency officials.

Participating in the Accessibility and Functional Needs Registry is completely voluntary. Information submitted is strictly confidential and will only be used in the event of an emergency. The online form is available at tay.ca/AFNR or available for pick-up at the Municipal Office located at 450 Park St., Victoria Harbour during our regular business hours of Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you require additional assistance with this form please reach out to Jenny via email at jduffy@tay.ca or call 705-534-7248 x262.
