Police, Fire Marshal investigate 'suspicious' weekend house fire

OPP Crime Unit investigating Saturday evening fire on Rhonda Road

 

Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed the weekend house fire on Rhonda Road is "suspicious."

Local OPP issued a news release today to confirm police are investigating. 

Acting Fire Chief Stephen Emo said on Sunday the Ontario Fire Marshal had been called to investigate the fire, which broke out on March 23 around 8 p.m. 

Occupants of the home did evacuate, but one resident was taken to hospital by ambulance to be treated for smoke inhalation. 

Members of the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Collingwood Fire Department responded to a house fire on Rhonda Road on Saturday evening. 

"The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to determine the origin of the blaze. The police investigation is being led by the Collingwood and Blue Mountains Detachment OPP Crime Unit," states the news release from OPP.
