A home under construction was destroyed by the fire and two adjacent homes were severely damaged, say police
Numerous calls from the public were received, stating that “the property was fully engulfed in flames,” say police.
Officers were dispatched to 208 Duncan Rd., in the area of 16th Avenue and Bayview Avenue, around 11:45 p.m. on March 10 for reports of an active fire at a home under construction.

Responding officers began evacuating residents of neighbouring homes as the fire quickly spread, police said.
The home under construction was destroyed by the fire and two adjacent homes were severely damaged, said police.
The damage to all three homes is estimated to be more than $12 million, added police.
Bryan Burbidge, the Richmond Hill fire chief, said that three homes were affected.
“The original house that was involved in (the) fire has totally been destroyed by the fire and the other ones on either side sustained significant damage,” Burbidge said.
The home under construction was unoccupied and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the Office of the Fire Marshal has been engaged, said police.
