Ottawa firefighters helped a who resident was injured while walking on a forest trail and couldn’t make their way out on their own.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) said they made their way into the forest near West Hunt Club Road at around 3:09 a.m. on Saturday.
They found a resident who had fallen down and injured themselves. Firefighters said they used a stokes basket with wheels to haul the resident out of the forest.
“Residents need to exercise caution right now on walking trails,” the OFS wrote on social media. “The changing weather has caused a lot of black ice causing dangerous conditions.”
