Halloween Night for Kids back at North Bay fire hall for 2023

The North Bay Fire and Emergency Services is hosting its annual Halloween Night for Kids this year, with the support of Community Living North Bay.

The event, which has been on hiatus since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will take place at Station 1 on Princess Street West and will include a spine-tingling haunted house hosted by Community Living and a robotics demonstration by FIRST Team 1305.

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, Le Towing delivered a truck load of Halloween treats for the event to the North Bay Fire Hall.

“The good folks at Le Towing showed up at the door of the fire hall with the largest ever Halloween donation that we have ever had the pleasure of receiving,” wrote deputy fire chief Greg Saunders of North Bay Fire and Emergency Services. “This contribution, along with the other generous donations provided by the community, should ensure that every child that shows up at the fire station on Tuesday will be treated with a great visit.”

Further donations are still welcome, he added, as they expect to host well over 2,000 children for trick or treating on Halloween night.

Organizers are reaching out to the community for assistance to help make the event a success and are in need of the following items:

  • Wrapped candy and chips;
  • Pumpkins of all sizes;
  • Straw bales and corn stalks.

Cash donations are also greatly appreciated.

Donations can be dropped off at Station 1, located at 119 Princess Street West. For those who require it, pickup arrangements can be made by calling 705-474-5662.

Everyone, of all ages, is invited to attend on Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 8 p.m. (or until the candy supply lasts), to partake in the Halloween festivities.
