Fire crews have been battling a massive grass fire in Ramara Township for days.  Officials believe the fire was started by a lightning strike Friday and quickly spread.  

Don Crocker has been appointed as the interim fire chief of the Southwold fire department after Chief Gary Wilson died suddenly in June.

Kincardine council has tentatively approved a plan to create a Firefighter Auxiliary Program in the municipality. Formal approval will come at the July 11th council meeting.

Shortly before 11 a.m. on July 10, Bradford West Gwillimbury Fire & Emergency Services received a call reporting a structure fire at 552 Holland St. W. – the new Holland Gardens retirement home, currently under construction.

Laurentian Valley Fire Chief, Tim Sutcliffe has confirmed that one person was killed in a fire Friday night on Round Lake Road. The home by TV Tower Road was completely gutted by the blaze and deemed a complete loss.

The Municipalities of Huron-Kinloss, Kincardine and Saugeen Shores have declared an fire ban due to lack of rainfall and forecasted hot, dry conditions.
