"We owe each of you a tremendous amount of gratitude and appreciation for all the long hours and years of service given to our community. On behalf of Council, staff, and Severn residents, not only do we thank you for your remarkable service and bravery, but for your love of your community that led you to become a volunteer firefighter. Thank you for all that you do, and a sincere welcome to our new recruits that have made a commitment to help others in times of need, and whose actions will make a true difference in our community."
