Whitby Firefighters Train for Real-Life Rescues

When people think of firefighters, they often picture flames from house fires, burning buildings, and smoke-filled rooms. The reality is many emergencies that Whitby Fire and Emergency Services responds to don’t involve fire at all.

Whitby Fire’s new recruits recently completed auto extrication training and practiced life-saving skills, so they are prepared if residents need help on the roads.

It’s a reminder to stay safe and alert behind the wheel. Whitby’s firefighters are ready if you need them but hope you never will.
