Police investigate arson that knocked out power in St. Thomas

An arson that caused a major power outage in the early hours of Monday morning has St. Thomas police in search of more information.

According to police, just after 2:00 a.m., police were called to the area of Sunset Drive and Talbot Street by St. Thomas Fire - the fire was reported by the fire department, and Entegrus as suspicious.

Although no injuries were reported, police were shown that a hydro pole had been burned after the main conduit was tampered with.

Power was restored to the area shortly after. Police continue to investigate.
