Police say one person was found dead inside a log home in Ramara Township after fire broke out early Tuesday morning.

Ramara Fire Chief Tony Stong said the call came in shortly after 5:30 a.m. about a structure fire on Concession Road A.

At the time, Stong said it wasn’t clear if anyone was inside the home, but told CTV News the homeowner was unaccounted for.

Police have not released the deceased individual’s identity.

The Ontario Fire Marshal and the chief coroner’s office have been called to investigate.

The damage to the one-and-a-half storey log home is estimated to be around $350,000.
