No one was hurt after a fire broke out at a Cambridge home.
Crews were called to a residential fire in the Lisbon Pines Drive and Braga Drive area around 8 a.m. Thursday.
Eric Yates, Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the Cambridge Fire Department, said the home was occupied at the time but all the occupants evacuated safely.
Firefighters arrived to the scene and were able to quickly contain the fire.
While the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, it is not considered suspicious.
Yates said the home had working smoke alarms.
“The Cambridge Fire Department wants to remind home owners the importance of working smoke alarms,” Yates said. “Please ensure you test alarms monthly and replace your alarms every 10 years.”
It’s the latest incident in a series of reported fires this week including a trailer fire in North Dumfries on Wednesday, a shed fire in Guelph on Tuesday, and a vehicle fire on Highway 401 on Monday.
