Blackstock fire draws at least 40 firefighters, causes over $1-million in damages

A fire is under control in Blackstock, thanks to the efforts of crews from departments in Scugog, Uxbridge and Clarington.

First-responders were called to the burning building shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.

It took 40 firefighters over 6 hours to get the blaze under control.

One firefighter was left with minor injuries to the ribs.

Scugog Fire Chief Mark Berney estimates that around 90 per cent of the building and its contents were lost, with over $1-million in damages.
