McDougall firefighters are gearing up for their Victoria Day long weekend fireworks display.
According to Fire Chief Patrick Shoebottom, the municipality is teaming up with the fire department to host fireworks at Kinsmen Park on Saturday, May 18, at dusk.
“It will be a big day for us, and we’ve put in a lot of hard work until now,” said Shoebottom at McDougall’s council meeting on Wednesday. “The day looks OK, so we’re very hopeful that the day will stick clear for us.”
The fire department will be on hand at 7:15 p.m. to entertain the kids, offering opportunities to get up close and personal with the fire trucks. Shoebottom adds that Sparky, the Rescue Dog, will be a special guest in charge of entertaining community members, while ensuring everything goes smoothly.
