Charles Frank Madder

Charles Frank Madder, age 74 years, lifelong resident of Geraldton, Ontario passed away peacefully at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, October 10th, 2024.

Charles / Chuck / Chucky / Charlie / Chas was born on December 1st, 1949 in Errington Township (Geraldton) to Charles Edward and Jeanne Madder.

He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara and his daughters Jeanine Whitnell (Kurt), Vicki Madder and son Tucker Madder (Suzanne); his grandchildren Kayla Whitnell, Lucas Whitnell, Austin Madder and Dylan Madder, numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins, and many, many close friends especially family friend Lenny Carlson.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Jeanne Madder and his sisters Vina and Myrtle.

Over the years Chuck worked as a Parts Manager at Ball Motors, Sinclair Motors and Kimberly Clark. He worked as Warehouse Clerk at the MNR Fire Base, then was employed as Custodian at BA Parker Public School and GCHS until his retirement.

Chuck had a long volunteer commitment in the community with Geraldton Minor Hockey, Geraldton Minor Baseball and 35 years on the Geraldton Volunteer Fire Department. The Fire Department was a heartfelt commitment where he made many lifelong friends and had many great memories. He was an active, passionate member of Geraldton Faith Chapel, where he celebrated many events and helped with the upkeep and maintenance of the building.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at Geraldton Faith Chapel on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a social time to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #133 in Geraldton. In lieu of flowers the family has asked if a donation can please be made to Chuck’s name to Want a Pet Greenstone, Paws 4 Love in Thunder Bay, or Geraldton Faith Chapel.
