King Burger in Pembroke suffers major damage in morning fire

King Burger in west-end Pembroke sustained major damage in fire earlier this morning (Sept. 26).

The Pembroke Fire Department said it received a report of smoke visible at a commercial building on Pembroke St. West this morning at approximately 7:45 a.m.  

Fire Chief Scott Selle said the department responded with one pumper truck and the duty crew. 

“On arrival, heavy smoke was issuing from the business with no visible flame,” Selle said. “The call was quickly upgraded, requesting all available personnel to respond. A search was conducted to verify there was no one inside the building.” 

With the call being upgraded, all department trucks responded to the fire. 

While the fire was brought under control by the Pembroke Fire Department Selle said the building has sustained major damage. 

The Pembroke Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of this fire. 

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP reported there were no injuries in the fire.
