There are no injuries reported following a single-vehicle collision in Ottawa’s west end over the weekend.

Around 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8., emergency services, including the Ottawa OPP detachment and Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to the scene of a vehicle rollover at Highway 417 and Panmure Road.

Crews arrived to find the vehicle had rolled onto its side in the centre median in a treed area with two occupants trapped inside.

Firefighters used chainsaws to cut away the trees and brush to access the vehicle, which was stabilized by around 4:45 a.m.

Specialized tools were used to safely extricate the first trapped occupant at 4:52 a.m. and the second trapped occupant was safely extricated four minutes later.

Firefighters were informed there were two cats inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

Both cats were located and brought to safety.
