Special Announcement - It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Rodney Houle, Fire Chief/Chief Building Official. Rodney was an integral part of our municipality and leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. He was a man of honesty and integrity and a source of immeasurable knowledge.
Those wishing to pay their respects can do so on Tuesday, June 2nd at the Massey & District Community Centre and Arena, 455 Government Road, Massey from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, June 3rd at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 160 Darby Street, Massey at 11:00 am. Internment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Imperial St. North. Reception to follow at the Massey & District Community Centre & Arena.
Although Rodney wore many hats, the Fire Department was his true passion. Donations in memory of Rodney can be made to the Sables-Spanish Rivers Firefighters Association.

HOULE, Rodney - It is with great sadness and the deepest sorrow to announce the passing of Rodney Michael Houle at the Mindemoya Hospital May 30, 2015 at the age of 46. Loving husband and best friend to wife Kerry, and very proud father of Blake. Loving and cherished son of Mike and Carol Houle of Massey. Very dear brother of Dean (wife Ericka) of Sudbury and Derek (wife Sarah) of Kitchener. Special brother in law to Joan (Guy), Deb (Allen), Tim (Jo-Anne) and Wally (Sheryl). His many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles who held a special place in his heart. Rodney dedicated a huge part of his life and was proud to serve as Fire Chief of Sable-Spanish Rivers Fire Department where he will be missed dearly. The Fire Department is a tight knit family and will feel the loss with great magnitude. He also leaves behind "the girls at the office" who meant the world to him. His new found passion was camping and has left a big hole in our crazy campers group. A visitation will be held at the Massey Arena on Tuesday June 2, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass at the Immaculate Conception Parish Wednesday June 3, at 11 AM. Interment to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Massey.
