Due to an upcoming retirement, the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock is seeking a Fire Chief who will, as part of the Senior Management Team, be responsible for the effective and efficient administration and operation of the Fire Department and the Township Emergency Management program. This position will perform the statutory duties of the Fire Chief as defined by the Fire Protection and Prevention Act and other acts of legislation.
The successful individual will demonstrate excellent knowledge of modern firefighting, rescue, and fire prevention practices; NFPA, CSA, ULC, and related standards. The proven ability to effectively lead, supervise, and support volunteer firefighters is a must.
This is a part time (28 hours per week) position with a salary range of $ 84,025 - $98,847

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Fire Prevention Officer (ACFPO), the successful candidate is responsible for conducting fire safety inspections, fire cause and origin investigations, fire code enforcement and coordinating, planning and delivering public fire and life safety education programs, with a focus on quality customer service and continuous improvement.
