SCUGOG — Scugog’s ‘Fill The Fire Truck’ campaign has lived up to its name.

The Scugog Fire Department accepted donations of new and unwrapped gifts and toys until Dec. 11 and delivered those donations to Operation Scugog on Dec. 16, said Mark Berney.

“I’d like to thank the community for their generosity,” said Berney, Scugog’s fire chief, who told councillors that firefighters delivered a “fire truck load” of donations to the food bank earlier that day. “It’s a heartwarming opportunity to give that generosity to Operation Scugog.”

On hand for the delivery was Scugog Mayor Bobbie Drew and Regional Councillor Wilma Wotten.

“It’s amazing the generosity of our community, it’s just amazing,” said Mayor Drew. “It’s so heartwarming to see the fire department onside and I think the guys and girls enjoy it, too.”

2019 marked the fourth year the Scugog Fire Department has held its ‘Fill The Fire Truck’ Christmas campaign.
