A pair of Quinte West’s firefighters were honoured on Saturday during a special luncheon at Batawa Community Centre on Saturday.
Division Commander Gary Lambert was recognized for his 45 years of service with the fire department, with a long service certificate.
A volunteer at Station 3 in Tucker’s Corners, Sherri Deslippe was named Quinte West’s Volunteer Firefighter of the year during the same luncheon.
Deslippe is also a supervisor with Hastings Quinte Paramedic Services, and provides training to other firefighters to familiarize them with ambulance equipment.
