Duties:
In an organization supporting progressive, strategic and responsive management, the Fire Chief reports to the Commissioner of Community Services for administrative items and directly to City Council for all Fire Protection matters.
The Fire Chief will be a senior administrative leader, responsible for directing all aspects of the Windsor Fire & Rescue Services including: planning, organizing, coordinating and directing of fire suppression and rescue, fire prevention, public education, staff training, emergency communication, mechanical repair, radio systems and fire emergency service operations and programs for the City of Windsor.
The Fire Chief will be responsible for the strategic and long-term planning and implementation for the Windsor Fire & Rescue Services Department and is responsible for the development and administration for the City of Windsor Municipal Emergency Response Plan.
