POSITION SUMMARY
The Township of Wainfleet is seeking an experienced fire service leader to serve as Deputy Fire Chief. Reporting to the Fire Chief, the Deputy Chief is second-in-command of Wainfleet Fire & Emergency Services and helps lead a volunteer department serving a rural community.
The Deputy Chief supports emergency operations and operational readiness, oversees firefighter training and certification, and provides leadership in fire prevention, public education and community risk reduction. The role also contributes to personnel management, health and safety, budgets, asset planning and implementation of the department’s Master Fire Plan. The successful candidate will respond to incidents, assume command or other incident management roles as required, and act as Fire Chief when delegated.
