Central Huron’s Fire Chief is retiring at the end of this month.
Steve Cooke has been a fire fighter in Clinton and Central Huron for 32 years.
Cooke says he continues to enjoy what he does and is now three years past the traditional retirement age. Cooke says he’s going to miss going to work and he’ll still wonder what’s going on every time he hears the siren, but he believes it’s time to step down and let a younger person take over.
Cooke adds he’ll remain in the Clinton area to pursue some hobbies and spend time with his grandchildren.
