Cambridge Fire Department has officially welcomed in their new fire chief.

Rob Martin has been sworn in as the city's new top firefighter after serving for more than 22 years with the Kitchener Fire Department and three years as deputy chief in Brampton.

CFD posted on their social media welcoming and congratulating their new chief.

In a reply to the post, Martin thanked everyone for the warm welcome and said he is honoured to join the team.

He replaces former chief Brian Arnold who left the city in July to take on the fire chief role in Guelph.
