Passing of Captain Gary Reid, Howe Island Fire & Rescue

Howe Island Fire & Rescue sadly announces the sudden passing of Captain Gary Reid of Howe Island Fire & Rescue. Captain Reid was a long time member and served as a Captain for many many years and continued to be active up until his passing. Most will remember Gary not only as a captain but also as the departments cook as he is the one who prepares the wonderful fish when we host the Mutual Aid Association along with many other fund raising activities. Gary is well known across the Region as he operated a mechanical shop on Howe Island. Captain Reid was very involved in many different service clubs as well as many years with Fire & Rescue. Sadly Captain Reid was tragically taken as a result of a Snowmobile Accident on Sunday February 17th. This was a very tough and very sad call for the members of Howe Island Fire & Rescue.

Captain Reid will be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be held later in the spring which will be announced at a later time.

Captain Reid will be sadly missed,

Sincerely,

Mike Quinn
