Dog dies following kitchen fire in east London, Ont.

London fire crews responded to reports of a house fire in the city’s east end early Saturday morning.

Officials say the fire was contained to the kitchen of the 200 block of Rainbow Avenue home.

Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the blaze.

Unfortunately, a dog died due to smoke inhalation.

The damage of the fire is estimated at $60,000.

London Fire is reminding residents to never leave cooking unattended and to ensure you have working smoke alarms.
