The East Ferris Fire and Emergency Services is conducting live fire training over the weekend, starting on Friday, June 6.
They will be set up at the Public Works yard on Highway 94, so if you’re driving and you see smoke from there, rest assured it’s from a controlled training event.
East Ferris firefighters are hosting crews from the Nipissing and Parry Sound districts. In a release, the department said, “Live fire training is a requirement for departments such as ours that provide any interior fire fighting.”
The Ontario Fire College and Office of the Fire Marshall have provided trailers and operators to help with the training exercises.
The East Ferris Fire and Emergency Services offered “Special thanks to the volunteers of East Ferris Fire and Emergency Services, and all volunteers from other departments for your commitment to training and keeping our communities safe.”
