Fire department asks for help clearing snow from hydrants

CambridgeToday.ca

Every second counts when responding to a fire.

That’s why the city’s fire department is asking residents to help clear fire hydrants that may have been buried by recent snowfall or snow clearing efforts.

Cambridge Fire Department posted to X, asking residents to be hydrant heroes by shovelling a clear path to any fire hydrant on their street.

Firefighters were also out clearing snow from area hydrants over the weekend, shovelling out a metre-wide path around every hydrant they found.

Residents are asked to do their part by clearing snow and ice from hydrants along city boulevards, shovelling out a metre wide path around the hydrant and ensuring there’s a clear path to the street.
