Ret. Fire Chief Matthew Pegg has joined Warrior Health as their chief operating officer.

“I am both honoured and thrilled to join the Wounded Warriors team as the chief operating officer of Warrior Health,” Pegg said.

“Powered by a consortium that brings together more than 300 years of firsthand experience in public safety resilience and mental health, the Warrior Health team will deliver vital mental health and resilience services for Ontario’s public service personnel and their families.”

Pegg, who assumed the role of fire chief for Toronto Fire Service in 2016, retired from the department in October.

Warrior Health, powered by Wounded Warriors, Homewood Health, Trillium Health Partners, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Boots on the Ground, provides confidential on-demand, stigma-free mental health support for public safety personnel and their families.

The organization was recently selected to design and deliver the Mental Health Supports for Public Safety Personnel program, the government of Ontario’s new first responder focused mental health support initiative.
