Local boy, firefighter dad heading up unique Movember campaign

Being too young to grow a moustache isn’t stopping a local boy from jumping on the Movember bandwagon.

Six-year-old Cohen Koesdibyo has decided to shave his hair — all of it except for a moustache-shaped patch on the back of his head.

Joining him in the annual initiative to raise money for and awareness of men’s health issues are his firefighter dad, Cody Koesdibyo, and other members of the Orillia Professional Fire Fighters Association, Local 1100.

For every $10 donated to the local boy’s cause, an entry into a raffle will be given.

One of the prizes is the opportunity to help decorate an Orillia fire truck in a Movember/moustache theme and then ride in it during the Orillia Santa Claus Parade on Nov. 23. The other prize is getting to play hockey with the Orillia Fire Department team at Rotary Place on a Thursday morning (date to be determined), followed by lunch at the fire hall with the crew on duty.

Donations to the local campaign can be made at movember.com/m/15310210?mc=1.
