Early morning townhouse fire in Burlington, 1 hospitalized

Over thirty firefighters worked overnight to put out a townhouse fire in Burlington that sent one person to hospital with smoke inhalation.

The multi-unit blaze started around 1:30 a.m. on Walkers Line near Upper Middle Road.

A CHCH freelancer says at least two townhouses caught fire with flames damaging the roof.

The Burlington Fire Department says that crews spent five hours at the scene and the damage is estimated at $2 million.

The Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal has been notified, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
