Early morning camping trailer fire at Carol Campsite in Sudbury

CTV News

It was an alarming wake up call for some at Carol Campsite on Richard Lake in Sudbury on Monday after a camping trailer caught on fire.

Fire crews were called around 6:15 a.m. July 22 about smoke coming from one of the trailers, deputy fire chief Jesse Oshell told CTVNewsNorthernOntario.ca.

"Crews arrived to find the trailer on fire with smoke and flames visible," Oshell said.

The two occupants inside the trailer were able to escape uninjured.

"Firefighters put the fire out and kept it from spreading to any other trailers in the park," Oshell said.

"The fire is not suspicious and the trailer is a complete loss."

He said the fire was potentially caused by unattended cooking.
