The Petrolia & North Enniskillen Fire Department received an early Christmas gift on Nov. 28.

Department members got the chance to take a look at their newest vehicle, a Pierce Ascendant 110-foot tower ‘bucket’ single axle ladder truck.

The final cost is $1.28 million.

Fire Chief/Director of Protective Services Jay Arns said the new vehicle will be put to good use.

“The truck is the workhorse for our department and it is integral for the safety of our firefighters to provide effective fire rescue and emergency response service to our communities,” he said.

Petrolia Mayor Brad Loosely said the new vehicle would protect residents and the community for years to come while Enniskillen Mayor Kevin Marriott thanked everyone involved in procuring the vehicle.
