Cambridge Appoints New Deputy Fire Chief - Administration

Cambridge, Ontario, May 28, 2012… The City of Cambridge is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Rehill as Deputy Fire Chief-Administration for the Cambridge Fire Department (CFD).

Rehill joined the City of Cambridge in 1991 as a firefighter and has progressed through the ranks to Qualified Captain and most recently Chief of Public Education, which included duties as the Alternate Community Emergency Management Coordinator.

A graduate of the University of Western Ontario in Public Administration, Rehill also successfully completed programs at Wilfrid Laurier University in Business & Economics Leadership and obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the same institution.  In addition, he obtained an Ontario Management Diploma from Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. He is currently working on a Masters in Disaster and Emergency Management at York University and certification from the Ontario Fire College for the Certified Fire Prevention Officer Diploma.

“We are pleased to see Jon move to the Deputy level and recognize his important contributions to the Fire Department which benefit the community as a whole,” says Bill Chesney, Cambridge ’s Fire Chief.  Rehill is credited with creating a Corporate-wide Emergency Management Program for the City along with implementing an Emergency Preparedness program.

“We have a dynamic and very strong focus on community education at the fire department here in Cambridge,” says Jon Rehill, Deputy Fire Chief - Administration. “I am looking forward to the new challenges that will be part of my deputy role.”
