The Township and Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Services are mourning the loss of retired Fire Chief Jack Karn, father to our Deputy Chief Jonathan Karn. Jack passed away peacefully surrounded by family earlier this week.
Jack started with the Fergus Fire Department in 1974 and became the Fergus Fire Department Fire Chief in 1994 until 2003. From 2003 until his retirement in 2011, Jack was the Assistant Chief of the Centre Wellington Fire & Rescue Department.
Jack was also a long time employee of the Public Works team retiring as Public Works Foreman of the Fergus shop.
- Public visitation will be at Graham Giddy Funeral home in Fergus on Monday Nov. 12, 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:30 to 9:30
- CWFRS firefighters are mustering at the Fergus Fire Station at 5:30 Monday Nov. 12 then forming up at the funeral home at 6pm.
All firefighters & their spouses / partners are welcome to join us. This will be a full dress uniform with white gloves.
- Funeral will be Tuesday Nov. 13 at the St. Joseph Church in Fergus starting at 11am.
