It is with extreme sadness that I must advise you that District Chief Tom Hawtin of the Brock Township Fire Department suddenly passed away early this morning at his home in Beaverton. District Chief Hawtin joined the Fire Department in 1972 at the Beaverton Fire Station for which he was still active and presently held the position of District Chief.

AWTIN: Thomas Edward (District Chief of Brock Township Fire Hall # 3) Suddenly on Friday, September 28, 2012. Tom Hawtin was the beloved husband of Dianne (Veale) Hawtin of Beaverton. Loved father of Gillian (Justin) Kylau of Lindsay, Ryan Hawtin of Beaverton and proud grampa of Xyerra Kylau. Son of Verna (Sackville) Hawtin of Beaverton and the late George Hawtin. Brother of Starr (Neil) Lindsey of Fergus, Wayne (Marlene) Hawtin of Ajax and the late Chuck Hawtin. Son-in-law of Gwen (Wakelin) Veale of Lindsay and the late Milford Veale.
Family and friends will be received at the Mangan Funeral Home, Beaverton on Wednesday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church, 523 Simcoe Street, Beaverton on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 1 P.M.
