One person is missing and another two are in hospital after a canoe tipped in the waters of Lake Margaret, near St. Thomas Ont. south of London, Monday morning.
St. Thomas police, along with EMS and the St. Thomas fire department were called to the lake just before 8:00 a.m. in response to reports that three adults had entered the water. Two of them were found and taken to hospital, where they remain in stable condition.
Police are now asking the public to stay clear of the area as emergency crews search for the third person.
"There's a large emergency service presence in the Lake Margaret area as efforts continue to locate the missing individual," said Samantha Wakefield, corporate communications coordinator for St. Thomas police. "We do ask that the public avoid the area as the search is ongoing."
Updates will be provided as they become available, said Wakefield.
