The Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services will begin their annual Home Visitation and Assistance Program on Wednesday, May 15.
This voluntary program is performed by the on-duty firefighters and allows residents the opportunity to have their homes inspected for life safety devices as well as providing homeowners with the opportunity to ask questions of the firefighters.
The area of Owen Sound involved in the 2024 campaign is the southwest portion of the city. Firefighters will visit homes south of 10th Street West and west of the 2nd Avenue East. Look for fire crews in that area over the next few months.
If a resident does not live in the area being canvassed but would like an inspection by our department to discuss their home fire safety and life safety, please get in touch with the fire department at 519-376-2512 to schedule an inspection.
For more information, please contact Fire Prevention Officer Greg Nicol at 519-376-2512 extension 2243 or email gnicol@owensound.ca
