A fire at an Oakville home Thursday night has damaged multiple sports cars, causing over an estimated $500,000 in damages.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a fire shortly after 10:30 p.m. at a home on Willowridge Court, where they found a three-door garage engulfed in flames.
Multiple cars were parked in the garage, including several sports cars on lifts, with at least one vehicle badly damaged from the fire.
Oakville Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault told CHCH News that the garage housed some “exotic vehicles” and total damages caused by the blaze is estimated to be over $500,000.
Halton police say the fire department indicated that faulty wiring in a breaker box in the garage may have caused the fire.
The residents of the home were evacuated safely as the garage caught fire and no one was injured.
Paramedics treated two people near the property for smoke inhalation.
Officers do not believe the fire to be criminal in nature and have not found the fire suspicious.
