First day on the job for new Fire Chief Guy Gallant

Municipality of Kincardine

The Municipality of Kincardine is pleased to announce that Guy Gallant starts as the new Fire Chief today, Monday, August 19th, 2024. The by-law for his appointment passed at the August 14th, 2024, Council meeting.

Gallant brings extensive fire and emergency service experience to the role with over 25 years in the sector in positions like Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief and as an instructor at the Ontario Fire College. Most recently, he served as the Fire Chief for the Municipality of South Bruce.

“I’m looking forward to this new opportunity and working alongside municipal staff, Council, and my fellow firefighters in both Stations 11 and 12 to ensure the safety of our community,” said Gallant.

The Fire Chief provides direction and leadership for both the administration and operations of the Municipality of Kincardine’s Fire and Emergency Services department. The dynamic role includes a variety of responsibilities including the planning, development, and implementation of requirements and best practices related to fire prevention, suppression, training, investigation, and public education.

We’re looking forward to his contributions and are confident that he will effectively lead the department to accomplish our strategic goals,” said Jillene Bellchamber-Glazier, chief administrative officer for the Municipality of Kincardine.
