Ajax honours late Retired Platoon Chief Paul Ritchie after death

Paul Ritchie

It is with deep sadness that we share the unfortunate news of the passing of Retired Platoon Chief Paul Ritchie.

Paul started his career with Ajax Fire as a volunteer in June of 1984 and was hired full time in February of 1986.  Throughout his career Paul moved up through the ranks from Firefighter to Qualified Captain, Captain, Qualified Platoon Chief, Platoon Chief, including several months as Acting Deputy Fire Chief.  Paul retired at the end of August in 2019.

Paul was a leader in our service, and he was calm and compassionate. He treated every person at every call like they were a member of his own family, and he was truly an ambassador of our service. Paul was very dedicated to our service and served as a member of the AFES Hockey Team, the Honour Guard and the Combat Challenge Team.

Paul will always be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all of us.

Please join us in remembering Paul
