Course Description:

Changing Careers introduces women to careers in firefighting career. This program is suitable for absolute beginners. This full day program will give participants an idea of the mental and physical demands of the job. You will learn how to wear and operate full firefighter gear, practice using hoses, learn basic search and rescue, and climb the aerial ladder. You will also have the opportunity to ask current women firefighters questions about required skills and aptitude to become a firefighter. Learn about the work schedule, workplace culture and benefits of taking on a career as a firefighter.

PPE Requirements:

Full PPE will be provided by HFD for Changing Career participants.
