Fire Chief Raymond Ormerod set to retire at end of the month

Fire Chief Raymond Ormerod is retiring from the municipality of Central Elgin in Ontario.

Ormerod began his career with the fire service in 1988 as a volunteer, transitioning to the St. Thomas department where he led the training division before being promoted to fire chief.

Central Elgin Fire and Emergency Service is still searching for a replacement fire chief to oversee the department comprised of over 100 volunteer firefighters operating out of four fire halls, St. Thomas Today reported.
