Thunder Bay Fire Rescue has a new deputy fire chief

Thunder Bay has a new deputy fire chief.

Dave Tarini the acting deputy fire chief will be filling the role permanently.

He began his career with the city as a firefighter in 2003, before working his way through the ranks of Fire Rescue’s Suppression Division.

He is replacing current Fire Chief Dave Paxton who vacated the role following his promotion.

In his new role, Tarini will be responsible for supporting the direction and management of the services carried out by Thunder Bay Fire Rescue, including implementing key initiatives from the Fire Services Master Plan and recommendations from the Community Risk Assessment.

His focus will be to guide operational improvements, aimed at ensuring the safety of the community and our firefighters.
