NEW FIRE CHIEF ANNOUNCED
FAMILIAR FACE TO ASSUME FIRE CHIEF ROLE IN INNISFIL
Innisfil, ON– Mr. Jonathan (Jon) Pegg has been selected as the new Fire Chief for the Town of Innisfil and will be starting in the position on April 7, 2014. “Jon brings a number of strengths to the Innisfil Fire Service. He is familiar with our community and will be able to step right into the role in an effective and professional manner. His background and experience in fire management; fire personnel training and emergency preparedness will allow Innisfil to continue with its efforts to enhance both public and fire fighter safety,” said John Skorobohacz, Innisfil’s Chief Administrative Officer.
Skorobohacz noted that, “Fire and Rescue Services has a number of important projects identified over the next several years. The recently adopted Fire Master Plan identifies some significant initiatives that will continue to support and advance community and public safety.” While fulfilling his role as the Innisfil’s Deputy Fire Chief, he had the opportunity to work with the community and the Fire service to identify areas for future improvements. Innisfil is pleased to have Fire Chief Pegg on board and is looking forward to implementation of the Fire Master Plan.
Mr. Pegg brings with him a wealth of knowledge, education, and over eighteen years of firefighting as well as management experience in municipal fire and rescue services. Most recently, he held the position of Deputy Chief for the Georgina Fire Department, where he was responsible overseeing all divisions within the Georgina Fire Department.
A committed and dedicated professional, and considered an inspiring leader, Mr. Pegg is a Certified Emergency Management Coordinator, and is currently completing a post-graduate program in Fire Service Administration through Dalhousie University, and a will bring those attributes to the Fire Service Team.
