There's a new deputy fire chief in town. Scott Foster has been appointed to the leadership position at the Timmins Fire Department.
Timmins Mayor Michelle Boileau congratulated Foster on the promotion after it was approved by council on Tuesday.
Foster is currently the chief training officer.
The deputy chief position has been open since April, after Scott Atkinson was promoted to chief when Berny Stansa retired.
