The City of Windsor is pleased to announce that Andrea DeJong will be joining the Windsor Fire & Rescue Services (WFRS) Management Team as Assistant Deputy Fire Chief - Planning effective July 7, 2014. Assistant Deputy DeJong joins the Fire Management Team bringing 15 years of experience in fire services.
Andrea is well known and respected for her experience in the delivery of fire prevention programming, including compliance, codes and standards and fire cause determination. Her strategic leadership and operational management skills in Fire and Rescue Services across Ontario is well known. Her many affiliations with fire services organizations has broadened her network of peers and other industry best practices which will form the basis of future improvements here at WFRS.
Andrea’s extensive certifications including incident management, customer service and as a Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC) will greatly assist in her role to strengthen the planning functions of both WFRS and the Corporation.
Assistant Deputy Chief DeJong will provide leadership and effectively manage the corporate Emergency Management Program, and will support the Deputy Fire Chiefs in all aspects of strategic and operational management of the City of Windsor Fire & Rescue Services.
