Good Morning,
I am pleased to share with you that Jack Burt will be joining the staff team on Monday, April 8th, 2013 as Deputy Fire Chief/Fire Prevention Officer.
Jack brings fourteen years of experience in the fire services. He holds both Company Officer and Fire Prevention Officer diplomas from the Ontario Fire College. He is also a Certified Emergency Management Coordinator, and Trainer Facilitator. Jack has also taken many specialised courses, such as Public Information Officer and Public Fire and Life Safety Educator. Jack is a qualified Community Emergency Management Coordinator, as well as holding a Associate Instructor designation from the Ontario Fire College.
Jack is currently a Captain/Public Educator/Trainer at South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department in Sauble Beach, and serves as Station Chief as needed. He has developed several public education programs for his community and was the author of South Bruce Peninsula’s current fire risk assessment. Jack is a licensed steamfitter by trade, and has worked on a number of fire protection projects in the piping industry.
Jack is looking forward to being a member of the staff, fire department and community of Meaford.
