HEASLIP, John R. 'Alg' -
Peacefully at Grandview Lodge, Dunnville on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the age of 82.
Devoted husband of the late Ila Heaslip (2008).
Loving father of Luanne and George Posthumus of Stirling, and Lisa and Peter Lowry of Ancaster. Cherished grandfather of Rebecca and Gina Posthumus, Hillary and Meghan Lowry. Dear brother-in-law of Irene Gloyd, (late Lloyd) and Mildred Richert, and June and Bill Inglis. Also remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Alg was an active and faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church. He was Fire Chief of the Dunnville Station No. 2 Fire Department for many years; past president of both the Firefighters Association of Ontario and Niagara District Firefighters Association.
Alg was an avid collector and his large toy collection was his favourite. He also enjoyed his involvement with the Slowpoke Car Club and the No. 6 RCAF Dunnville Museum.
A Memorial Service will take place at Faith Lutheran Church, 1308 Highway 3 East, Dunnville on Saturday, June 29th at 11 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
